In Masooli Secondary School in Wakiso District, together with Girls in School Initiative and Suubi foundation we reached out to over 60 students in the ages between 13-20 years on an interactive Peer Education Program which focused on Sex education and Menstural health Management.
We had an extensive discussion with the students on why is important to abstain from sex while still in school which could support their mental health, prevent consequences of unsafe sex which my result into unwanted pregnancies, infections and diseases a fact that could affect their education hence hindering their dreams.
On the other hand we discussed the importance of paying critical attention to the Menstrual process as it’s largely linked to health, mental and gender matters which also need to be put into consideration during the cycle at both a personal and public level.
