As a member Organization of MCLD-U, we were represented by our Team Leader Ian Kikomeko to an event organized by the Movement for Community-Led Development (MCLD-U) which was marked by a learning episode about Community-Led Development and its relevance by Dr. Daisy Owomugasho, Regional Director, The Hunger Project Uganda and Gunjan Veda, Senior Advisor and Coordinator of Global Collaborative Research MCLD .
MCLD-U hosted INGOs, local leaders, Member CSOs and selected government entities during the symposium that was graced by Mr. Tim Prewitt, President of The Hunger Project, and the Vice president, Mr. Rowlands Kaotcha, with the attendance of organizations including BRAC UGANDA, CSBAG, Charter 4 Change , World Vision, Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development among others.
The Movement for Community-Led Development is a global community of practice that collects and disseminates methodologies and best practices utilized by member CSOs to share and empower communities to take charge of their own development. MCLD in Uganda was launched and is hosted by The Hunger Project.
