GABA market is one of the few markets located on the showers of Lake Victoria supporting over 500 people carrying out business which also includes food items.
The Market is characterized by a poor drainage system which has caused stagnant water in the market full of waste and stench, it also has no effective dumping procedure hence prompting open littering.
Working together with the Market Local Council 1 leadership, Rotary Club of Kasangati, Rotaract Club of Kasangati, Rotaract Club of Nangabo and the Interact Club of Princess Daina High Schools, we managed to carry out a cleaning drive in the market while sensitizing the People about the dangers of poor sanitation.
Members with in the Market community raised some concerns that needed local government intervention which we promised to interact with the authorities and partners to support the market infrastructural development.
